About us
Kate’s Equestrian Supplies was opened in October 2011 by me, Kate Lawrance. I have over 35 years of equestrian experience ranging from keeping and competing my own ponies and horses to working as Head Groom for International Eventer Oliver Townend and as Head Groom for International Show Jumper Di Lampard. The highlights include being part of the New Zealand Event Team at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez, being awarded 3rd place in the British Equestrian Federation Groom Of The Year competition in 2007, and a member of Team GB for the Nations Cup at the 2008 Samsung Super League Final in Barcelona.
In March 2021 Kate’s Equestrian Supplies became a member of the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA). This is something that I am very proud of as the business had to meet exacting standards and referees from within the trade were required to vouch that the business was credible with suitable premises, before the application could be approved by the BETA council. Being a member of BETA provides me with extensive support within the industry and it enables me to further my knowledge with the many training courses that are available.
During the summer of 2021 I opened the showroom which, once I had completed my BETA training, enabled me to offer riding hat and body protector fitting alongside clothing and footwear sales. I supply good quality and affordable riding equipment and aim to suit all budgets from entry level upwards. Customer service is very important to me, so I am always on hand if there is a problem or if advice is needed on any products. Given my experience in the equestrian world I try to be helpful to everyone and particularly to newcomers to the equestrian world.
